5 Girls Basketball Post Drills That Improve Rebounding

In girls basketball, players think rebounding is only jumping up and getting the ball. Actually there is a little technique to it. Here are some drills to help you with rebounding.

Drill 1: Tip the Ball off the Wall and Pivot

1. Face a wall or basketball backboard, while holding a basketball.

2. Tip the ball off the wall, then catch with both hands.

3. Do a complete turn using the left foot as the initial pivot foot.

4. Tip the ball off the wall, then catch with both hands.

5. Do a complete turn using the right foot as the initial pivot foot.
6. Repeat.

Getting To Know Yourself

Most people think they know themselves pretty well, but how well do you really know yourself? Do you know exactly how you feel about certain things and why, or do you tend to judge how you feel by how you think you should feel? Are you comfortable with your feelings and the “inner you,” or is that uncomfortable?

Getting to know yourself may be a little different from getting to know the new neighbor or that attractive blond in your building, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be harder to really get acquainted with you.

Are You Open 24-7?

In this huge “struggle to juggle,” I hear from so many burned-out professionals just trying to keep all of their balls in the air. From all different parts of the country, age groups, and specialties, people are screaming “UNCLE!” It brings to mind my all time favorite Seinfeld quote, “SERENITY NOW!” Are you available to everyone, all the time, via your cell phone, email, pager, or messenger pigeon? Are you missing out on living, because you are living to work? Are you “open” to the world 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? If you do not set very clear and intentional boundaries around your technology, you are a walking convenience store.

Coaching Vs Therapy - Bridging The Gap

Defining the two fields:

The American Psychological Association (APA), says “…the understanding of behavior” is the enterprise of psychologists. My interpretation of therapy is it frequently results in positive changes based on understanding past causes for current behavior. It often deals with repressed conflicts from childhood to help clients deal better with practical, real-life problems. Therapy assesses and intervenes at the level of feelings. Long-term, troubled clients with significant emotional challenges are best served by therapy.

Goal Setting And Your Own Peace Of Mind

Goal setting turns some people right off! Even people who are serious about personal development and goal setting sometimes voice similar concerns. Why is that? Perhaps the goal is too ambitious for the abilities of the person concerned. And so they begin to stress and worry about never achieving it. That’s a clue to what I believe is the root cause behind the avoidance of setting goals, or of dropping them. Your own peace of mind.
